Let Freedom Ring Launches
"The Obama Downgrade" Campaign
Obama Owns the Downgrade for Three Years of Failed Economic Policies
Philadelphia, PA --
The U.S. credit rating downgrade, the first in American history that
Standard Poor' has just announced opened the doors to the newest
campaign from Let Freedom Ring at www.TheObamaDowngrade.com, which defines the downgrade as President Obama's. At the website, Americans are able to acquire the Obama Downgrade bumper sticker and tens of thousands are expected to
vote on whether WE should downgrade Obama after he downgraded US.
Colin Hanna, President of Let Freedom Ring, responded to this historic news saying:
"This is the first time in our nation's history that we have been downgraded, and the President owns it entirely. He refused to stop the spending and failed to address our looming debt crisis months ago, as a true leader would. He should accept responsibility for the downgrade, and show that he recognizes the seriousness of the situation by putting forth additional deficit reduction proposals that go beyond those in the deal signed earlier this week. That deal went only about half as far as the ratings agencies signaled that they thought necessary, but even more important was the lack of structural reforms. We believe that the Cut, Cap and Balance Act that included a Balanced Budget Amendment could have met Standard and Poor's criteria and avoided the downgrade. That bill passed the House of Representatives but was tabled in a cynical procedural move by Senate Majority Harry Reid, who now must accept some shared responsibility. If the President does not take immediate steps to restore our AAA credit rating, the Obama Downgrade will become a household
term and a major political issue in 2012."
