‘Early Bird’ Registration Rates End on Wednesday

(Harrisburg, PA) – Victoria Coates of the Heritage Foundation and Charles Mitchell from the Commonwealth Foundation will hold a “conversation” on Playing Offense for Conservative Principles during the 2023 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference to be held March 30 – April 1, 2023 at the Penn Harris Hotel by Wyndham in Camp Hill Pennsylvania.

Special Guest Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will be the conference luncheon Keynote Speaker on Saturday, April 1st; Fox News contributor Kellyanne Conway will be Featured Speaker at the conference dinner on Friday, March 31stVictoria Coats and Charles Mitchell will be joined in speaking at the conference by Congressman Scott Perry; breakfast speaker John Gizzi of Newsmax; Dr. Paul Kengor from Grove City College; Newsmax columnist Jeff Lord; Colin Hanna from Let Freedom Ring,  USA; David Taylor of the Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association; Judge Cheryl Lynn Allen from the Pennsylvania Family Institute; State Treasurer Stacy Garrity; Auditor General Tim Defoor; Lynda McLaughlin of the Sean Hannity Show; Rose Tennent of Rose Unplugged; David McCormick author of Superpower in Peril; Guy Benson of Fox News Radio; Marc Morano of Climate Depot, and Lourdes Ubieta of Americano Media as conference speakers.

The 2023 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference will include a full day of workshops on Thursday, March 30th including a Local Leaders Workshop; School Board Campaign Activism Workshop; How the Left Does It: Ballot Out/Ballot In Workshop; and Reclaim Pennsylvania Elections Workshop. Friday morning, March 30th workshops include Worldview and the Backfire Effect, Why the ‘Ostrich’ Strategy on Abortion Doesn’t Work, Parental Empowerment and Gearing up for 2023 School Board Elections.

The 2323 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference will include four policy panel presentations including: Empowering Parents & Students moderated by Michael Geer of the Pennsylvania Family Institute; Building A Hispanic Coalition moderated by Jaime Florez of the Republican National Committee; Playbook for Protecting Pennsylvania & Preserving Public Safety moderated by Ashley Klingensmith from Americans for Prosperity-PA; and Winning & Serving as a Liberty Conservative moderated by Justin Greiss from the Citizens Alliance of America.

Additional speakers will be announced over the coming weeks.

Victoria Coates joined The Heritage Foundation as a Senior Fellow in International Affairs and National Security in the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom in August 2022. Coates works on building global energy security, countering predatory Chinese activity, expanding the historic Abraham Accords, and establishing a U.S.-led Middle East strategic alliance. Coates routinely appears on TV and radio and her writing has appeared in outlets including Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Times.

Coates previously served as the Deputy National Security Advisor for the Middle East and North Africa on the National Security Council staff. Coates holds a B.A. from Trinity College, a M.A. from Williams College, and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, all in art history.

Charles Mitchell is the president and CEO of the Commonwealth Foundation, Pennsylvania’s free-market think tank.

Charles grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs in a family of railroaders, teachers, and small business owners. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania’s public schools, Bucknell University, the Koch Associate Program, and the Claremont Institute’s Publius Fellowship.

Charles first became associated with the Commonwealth Foundation when he was a college newspaper editor under attack for defending free speech. He became a Commonwealth Foundation investor in 2006, joined the staff as Chief Operations Officer in 2010, and became CEO in 2016. During that time, he has been honored with the State Policy Network’s Overton Award and the Heritage Foundation’s Distinguished Intern Alumni Award and recognized as one of City & State Pennsylvania Forty Under 40 Rising Stars.

In addition to his Commonwealth Foundation responsibilities, Charles serves as an elder of his family’s church, a founder of Threefold Schoolhouse: An Acton Academy, president of the Open Discourse Coalition, and a board member of Americans for Fair Treatment and the Franklin News Foundation.
