Tax day 2025 has come and gone, but not without providing stress and headaches for taxpayers across the nation!

While the April 15th deadline rarely brings joy to the hearts of the American taxpayers, we’ll all be in for a nightmare next April 15th if Congress doesn’t get to work to extend President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

What if I told you that there’s a policy goal in Washington that enjoys the support of over 75% of all Americans? In our current political climate, it’s hard to believe—but it’s true! According to recent polling from Public Opinion Strategies, most Americans believe that letting President Trump’s Tax Cuts & Jobs Act expire is the same as a tax increase.

To set the scene: if Congress lets President Trump’s tax cuts expire, this would be the equivalent of a $4 trillion tax hike on Americans. In Pennsylvania, this could mean the loss of 33,000 jobs across the commonwealth. The stakes couldn’t be higher—and here’s where things stand.

Last week, both chambers agreed upon the budget resolution, which is the vehicle to achieve President Trump’s policy goals, including the much-needed extension of the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act. Next, the vehicle will go back to the House and Senate’s respective committees to draft the legislative text that will match the budget resolution’s spending instructions. While last week’s budget resolution vote was a huge step in the right direction, we still have a long way to go until our much-needed tax cuts are protected.

That’s why Americans for Prosperity has launched our full-court press campaign: Protect Prosperity. Through digital ads, informational mail-pieces, and, most importantly, grassroots events in every corner of the commonwealth, our tens of thousands of activists are working each day to combat the threat of impending tax hikes. It’s not too late to join us in the fight. Your member of Congress must hear from you that you stand behind them in the effort to protect our tax cuts!

Whether it’s canvassing your neighborhood, joining a local phone bank, or bringing a friend to a TCJA information session, we need you to help us get this effort across the finish line! Head to ProtectProsperity.com to learn how you can get involved in the fight.

Make sure that next April 15th, Tax Day is an inconvenience—not a taxpayer nightmare!
